Recapping the Ramble
June 30, 2008
What a day for a race at the Reforestation Camp! Fifty runners came out to enjoy
the beautiful sunny morning for our Reforestation Ramble in Suamico. While
setting up the event on Saturday, we experienced downpours and hail! What a
difference a day makes! The course was still a bit muddy which made for some
dirty running! Runners found the mostly single track course both enjoyable and
challenging.
Our 10K runners got things started followed 5 minutes later by our 5K runners.
The 10K men were lead by Thomas Karban from Marinette, WI with a time of 47:18.
Just seconds behind was Jeff Abitz from Appleton, WI with a time of 47:48, third
place was claimed by Eric Saeger of Oshkosh, WI. The top finishing woman in the
10K was Krista Heath of Green Bay with a time of 52:01 followed by Sarah
Schwiesow of Green Bay for second place and Sheila Nysse of Saint Nazianz, WI
took third.
Our top finishing woman in the 5K was Jennifer Lynch of Green Bay with a time of
24:05 followed by Kristi Jennings of Oshkosh, WI in second and Lindsey Rand of
Cedarburg, WI took third. Ben Mueller of sheboygan, WI took first place 5k
honors with a time of 20:45 followed by Rick Pethan of Germantown, WI in second
and Don Freitag of Marshall, WI in third.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Shawn Hauser & 2 Wheelz, Inc.
for all of their time and effort to make this event possible. Thanks to Jeff and
Dale who worked diligently to make the course enjoyable to both veteran and
novice trail runners. Thanks to all of the volunteers that took time out of
their busy summer schedules to help!!!
We would also like to express our gratitude to all of our great sponsors!
TEVA-Our Title Sponsor, along with Eastbay, Road ID, RunAway Shoes and Clif

enjoyed it!

Welcome
To WORS Trail Running Series!
April 23, 2008
On behalf of TEVA,
all of our other fine sponsors, and each of our organizing committees and
volunteers, we welcome you to THE WORS TRAIL RUNNING SERIES OF 2008.
Once again the season is here for another year of adventure and challenge on the
trails of Wisconsin. In WORS Trail Running's 6th year of racing we continue to
seek new and exciting ways to present our runners with the best experience
possible. New in 2008, runners will see more competitive age groupings and new
venues across the state.
Relative to the essence of trail running, we are focused on environmental
awareness. With this focus, we are personally determined to take on the
responsibility of minimizing the impact on our environment. As advocates for a
greener planet, we feel that it was our responsibility to take steps within the
WORS Trail Running Series to support companies that provide products that are
earth friendly. The t-shirts that participants are receiving are made of 100%
organic cotton by American Apparel. Water stations will be offering the water in
biodegradable cups. We will be composting all waste from fruit. We will be
enforcing a "no sign left behind" policy for the trail systems we use.
We hope that in appreciation of our efforts that we can count on you to be as
conscientious as possible with your actions. Please respect the beauty of nature
and try to only bring items that you can take back with you. Also, we would like
to encourage everyone to bring their own water bottles. However, water will be
available at the half way point of the 10K and at the end of both of the races.
We thank you in advance for your effort to this commitment.
